“Name” What Matters

Train to Reign

One of the four process steps of Tribal Alchemy is “naming.” Ingenious tribes that turn what they have into what they need, take the time to name challenges, opportunities, their raw materials, and anything else that matters. Naming creates identity, ownership and accountability, for starters.

Here’s a great example from the Boston Red Sox. Check out the name on pitcher, David Price’s jersey. “Train to Reign.”

Yep. Name, what matters and it becomes real. It also creates a frame through which a tribe sees and talks about its work–whatever that work may be.

What does your tribe need to name?
