Who Sharpens You?

I reading, The Invention of Air, by Steven Johnson. It’s a historical look at Joseph Priestly–a contemporary of Benjamin Franklin. One thing early in the book that strikes me, is the communal learning that Priestly engaged in. He was part of a group known as, The Honest Whigs. This group got together to discuss well, everything and to eat and drink. Perfect.


Now more than ever we need these kinds of informal but focused tribes. Groups that can stimulate curious, challenge norms and dream new dreams. Find yourself some honest whigs and change the world. Priestly’s group did…
